About R.M.

I’m originally from Mobile, Alabama. I was a kid that was curious about business, loved sports, and to hustle (had a lawn care business, eBay store, etc., at young age). I attended Morehouse College. I now reside in Los Angeles, CA.

Professionally, I’m the Director of Finance & Strategy at HOORAE Media. At HOORAE, I evaluate Issa Rae’s private investments that align with the company vision. Investments span across venture capital, strategic investments, and M&A opportunities in the sports, real estate, media, and CPG sectors. In addition, I lead strategic and financial decision-making across HOORAE’s divisions including Fête, ColorCreative, Raedio and Film/TV production. Before joining HOORAE, I worked in venture capital, private equity, management consulting, and advisory.

I’m intrigued by innovation, new business models, and deal-making/investments. As an angel investor, I have invested in start-ups including Unspun, Time Magazine’s 100 Best Invention in 2021, MealMe, a Top App in the Food & Drink Category on the Apple App Store, among others.

Outside of work, I enjoy film/tv, sports, traveling, fashion, trying new foods, podcasts and reading about business, media & tech.
