About R.M.

I’m originally from Mobile, Alabama. I was a kid who was curious about business, loved sports, and always found ways to feed that curiosity by building things; from a lawn care business, eBay store, and more at young age. That early curiosity and drive shaped how I approach investing and building today.

I attended Morehouse College and now reside in Los Angeles, CA. My experience spans principal investing, private equity, and venture capital.

Most recently, I led principal investments and supported multi-division growth at HOORAE Media, Issa Rae’s multi-entity platform. There, I evaluated and executed direct investments in venture capital, private equity, and real estate, while supporting leadership with growth across 8 operating divisions.

Prior to that, I worked across venture capital, private equity, and advisory, gaining experience in sourcing, diligence, and execution across growth equity, buyout, and early-stage transactions in technology, consumer, sports, and media.

I’m passionate about innovation and deal-making/investing. As an angel investor, I have invested in start-ups including Unspun, ( named Time Magazine’s 100 Best Invention in 2021), MealMe (a Top App in the Food & Drink Category on the Apple App Store) among others.

Outside of work, I enjoy film/tv, sports, traveling, fashion, and reading about business, media, & technology.
